Yūkyū is a floor-sitting writing desk built around century-old Caribbean rosewood, hand-cut half-blind dovetails, exposed tusk-tenon joinery, and a cherry trestle base. Designed as a personal collection piece, it explores how rare materials, traditional construction, and restrained Japanese influence can come together in furniture intended to endure for generations.

A modern reinterpretation of an earlier Flowing Water design, this live edge console combines oak, hard maple, and walnut with staggered shelving and exposed tusk-tenon joinery. The piece explores asymmetry, rhythm, and restrained structure while remaining highly adaptable for entryways, living rooms, and display-focused interiors.

Wood offers far more than familiar shades of brown. From the violet tones of purpleheart and fiery color of padauk to the wild patterns of marblewood, ziricote, and snakewood, exotic hardwoods reveal a natural palette that can be surprisingly bold. Mujō began with a rare marblewood slab unlike any I had worked with before. Its stone-like weight, dramatic grain, and natural fissure shaped every design decision, resulting in a one-of-a-kind bench that explores the Japanese concept of impermanence through visible joinery, natural materials, and handcrafted construction.

This custom solid hardwood bookcase was designed to fit a specific home, blending tiger maple, walnut, and African padauk into a piece inspired by traditional joinery and architecture.
