Signature Work
Chowa 調和
Harmony
Starting at $4,500
Live edge walnut coffee table with leopardwood base and Gabon ebony pegs | Finished with satin hardwax oil
Named Chowa, meaning “harmony,” this one-of-a-kind coffee table is an exploration of balance. A bold leopardwood base is set against the quiet restraint of a walnut top, while ebony pegs provide a precise, jewel-like accent.
In fine furniture, highly figured exotic woods are often used sparingly to temper their intensity. Chowa reconsiders this approach by allowing leopardwood to define the structure itself. Through careful proportion and contrast, its natural movement is composed into a unified whole. The result is a work that feels resolved, deliberate, and singular.
Unkai 雲海
Sea of Clouds
Starting at $4,000
Live edge cherry console table with walnut pegged joinery | Finished with satin hardwax oil
Named Unkai, meaning “sea of clouds”, this one-of-a-kind console table captures the serene beauty of a mountain ridge floating above the mist. The live edge top, cut from a stunning cherry slab, evokes the silhouette of distant peaks. Beneath it, a sculptural base blends minimalist lines with time-honored joinery to create a functional work of art.
I accept a limited number of custom furniture commissions each year. Pieces are designed and built to order, with an emphasis on Japanese-inspired forms, traditional joinery, and carefully selected hardwoods.

The work here is guided by restraint, proportion, and respect for material. Traditional methods inform each piece, while form remains contemporary and unforced. Nothing is added without reason.
